“SMF on The River?
I’d read in various places that SMF is playing a camera man on The River, a new thriller tv series, but I’ve not read anything about it recently and it premiered tonight. Do you know anything?”
This is what I know:
Foster will play Jed Boggs, a free-spirited, adventure-seeking cameraman who is willing to risk anything to get the perfect shot. The role carries a series regular option.
The Steven Spielberg-produced River centers on a group of people who travel deep in the Amazon in search of a famed adventurer who has gone missing. The cast includes Bruce Greenwood, Leslie Hope and Paul Blackthorne.

Foster is set to play a cameraman who may (probably does) have a secret. Considering the search-party has a camera crew with them during their venture, it’s easy to see how this role fits into the story, and given the casting choice, added to the “secret” mention, it sounds like Foster’s role will be relevant to the story. Whether or not the recurring role evolves into a regular one will probably be determined by whether or not his character survives the dangerous job assignment.
